Disappointing spa experience
Booked a full day spa for 4 to celebrate my birthday at River Valley branch (table 2). Arrived there to find there's 98 guests booked for the same day on Sunday 8 September 2019. There was no privacy or personalised service as would be expected of a spa. Everything was so communal, sharing treatment stations with groups of strangers. Some of the groups (e.g. Table 10) were rowdy and didn't respect that we were there to relax and get pampered. Requests for them to quieten down resulted in verbal altercations between us as guests. The the******s made no effort to tone down their clients, particularly at the foot massage station. Managers on the day were scarce. I even gave away the discount voucher you gifted me because I will never set foot at Mangwanani again, whether free, gifted or self-paying. Also, the spa is falsely advertised as being in Hartebee****rt. Coming from Harties, we found ourselves having to drive all the way back to Pretoria and endure that ********** 8km gravel road. The drive was over 1 hour and 20 minutes for us. By the time we reached treatment 6 and 7, I was up to there, done and waiting for the 45min drum to gong so I can dress up and leave. The treatments themselves were fine. Thabang who attended to us at the jacuzzi was the best the******. It would be better that on booking, you inform guests that you are a communal spa and we can then make a decision based on that. Oh, and lastly - your the******s should speak to guests in English and not insist on using the the******s' language of choice. We are not native Sotho or Tswana speakers and it is culturally insensitive to assume that just because a guest is black, therefore they'll understand that language.
We’re so sorry to hear that the service experience has left you feeling let down and undervalued and we assure you that it is never our intention to upset you in any way.
Kind regards
Mangwanani
