We were not allowed to board

I picked up two female friends who asked me to drop the at the airport so they can go to Durban. One is 21 and the other is 20.

We arrived at the airport 17:36 on 1/7/17. All flights from all airlines were finished. The earliest flight was with Mango Airlines at 07:15 on 2/7/17. The two females decided book it and stay at the airport all night. As we being helped, the woman helping us asked for their IDs and I gave her two certified copies and affidavits. She asked where the originals were and told her that they back home which was a bit too far. She(Mango Attended) then took the documents, booked and paid. I left and they stayed the night because they didn't want to miss the flight.

Now in the morning as they check-in, a guy from Mango came and told they cannot board the plane with those documents and told them, they need the original ID copies. My then asked to be refunded if they won't be allowed on the flight because they didn't sleep at the airport for nothing. The guy from Mango refused to refund them, told them to go get their original ID copies and they will be refunded.

How is that possible?! We were not wrong her, the woman who helped us could've asked if they allow certified copies and affidavits before booking. Now going back each of their homes to fetch IDs would be a waste of money because we would have to pour a lot of petrol and that would be exhausting for because they didn't even sleep because there's no where to sleep at the airport.

They had two options, to refund or get them on the flight. But we did not get what we paid for and also losing money.
