Traumatic Pet Travel

My dog and I were scheduled to fly on JE369 on 2 January 2017, booking reference PBGRHY. This had been booked on 11 November to ensure that there was sufficient space in the cargo hold area for my dog. The flight from Durban to Cape Town landed as planned but my dog was never put on the flight. The reason I was given, was insufficient space in the cargo hold, despite the fact that I had booked him in almost 2 months in advance.

I cannot understand why a live pet was not given priority over items such as surf boards and golf clubs. My dog was locked away in his travel cage for over 6 hours and was severely dehydrated. He was put on the next flight from Durban to Cape Town which landed 2 hours after mine. He was also not prioritized after landing, it took staff another 45 mins to get him to me.

The inconvenience and trauma caused to my dog is the reason why I will not be flying with mango ever again. At one stage none of the staff members knew where my dog was.

I demand a refund and compensation for the trauma caused. This review will be going on every social media platform.
