****** camera and non existent customer service

myself, my wife and two friends recently flew on flight JE147 from Johannesburg to Cape Town, on Sunday the 30th of October. Unfortunately one of our suitcases was broken into, ransacked and a camera was ******. All of this in my opinion is bad enough but to add to this my wife called Mango when we arrived home to inform them of this event and was dealt with quite abruptly and rudely over the phone. It can only be assumed from the phone call that Mango do not care that this type of thing happens and could actually be interpreted that Mango condones this type of behavior. When we first tried to check in at 1120 in OR Tambo we were advised by Mango staff at the desk that we should not check our luggage in before midday as they could not be held responsible for them, this I find quite ludicrous as a frequent international traveler, in my opinion the minute the airline accepts my bag it should be responsible until I get it back. We then checked in after midday as advised and this still happened, the suitcase was tie wrapped closed yet all the contents were searched and the camera was ******. Thankfully this was the only item of value in there. It is obvious that the screening and security of staff at either OR Tambo is sorely lacking, how does this type of thing go unnoticed? I think on an even more serious note if it so easy to access luggage by the airport staff to search and ***** items, what else could happen? Could something be deposited into the suitcase of an ******* or dangerous nature? we filed a police report with all the relevant details. I have since emailed Mango on two occasions with no reply, pathetic customer services. in summation, I am very unhappy with the fact this happened and I am even more annoyed with the reaction of Mango staff when this was reported. I think this possibly could have been far more serious due to my point above and expected better from them
