Not a so-warm welcome by Mango staff at ORTIA
I had eagerly made a booking for a flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg, with payment made earlier that morning over the phone. I am on crutches, following surgery on my right leg a week before.

On the morning of the day of travel I called Mango Medicals and asked for advice. The initial assistance was great, being told that there would be wheelchair and other assistance at points of departure and arrival.

Cape Town: good. Arrived. Checked in. Wheelchair sent. Felt sorry for the lady with a small body though pushing a gigantic chap like me. Got off at security gates and made rest of airport trip on crutches. My worry in the first place was more about arriving at ORT than leaving Cape Town.

On arrival in JHB (Flight JE158), I waited for all passengers to disembark as I would need assistance. The staff were aware of me. Or at least I thought so. Until I was handed my crutches and got \goodbyes".

Now imagine this. The plane had stationed on the very very last arrivals passages the north side of the airport. I had to walk a considerable distance without any assistance. It got worse when I learnt luggage would be offloaded on the last turnstile (8) as well! The pain!"""
