Mango will not offer refund

I booked to flight from CPT to JHB for Friday 26th February. I fell sick and consequently could not make the flight.Today i phoned Mango for a refund but they will not issue one because i went to the doctor the next day instead of the same day. Reference number NKGWMF. I demand a full refund.
