Mango shmango.... worst airline period!!!!

Im not one to complain but this def has to be put out there.... Mango has lost another family as clients, not to mention that I will make it well known to everyone about their non friendly policies for families travelling on their airline.

Anybody that has kids knows its not easy to get packed and ready for a flight even when 90% is done in advance...

hence we arrived late for check in but still had ample time as the flight only left in 30 mins after discussing the situation with the lady at the counter said if we are willing to drag our massive bags through the boarding gates and AXIS allows it we can board with all our luggage at the plane gates. after all the running around we finally got to the gates where they board the plane only to be told that the flight was closed and that they couldnt get a hold of the lady at the counter to tell us - useless !!!! We asked when the next flight was with Mango to cape town only to be told we need to wait in the airport for 5 hours and had to pay in a nominal fee each. We decided to purchase other tickets with another airline which departed within the hour so we didnt have to sit with our 1 year old in the airport. We decided to sort out the flight we missed with Mango to cape town once we got back to JHB.

So now its time to go home on Mango as we start to offload our luggage we get told that we need to pay for our baby's camp cot whereas others airlines allow it free(bearing in mind on the way down we did not pay with Kulula). The charge at Mango is R45 per kilo(rip-off)which worked out to R450 for the 10kgs but advised if we went online to the website it would be R25. Once going through the step by step process online the payment came to R350 even though before checking out it totalled R250 for 10kg. They advised us that the rates had changed but couldn't understand why it still showed R250 before check out.

Long story short don't fly mango when u can get the camp cot on your flight for free as well as they only allow 10kgs baggage for infants other airlines 20kgs.

Oh and the lady said we lost our flights when we decided to not take the later option with a 5 hour wait.

def not a family friendly airline - and i would advise against using there non existant services !!!
