Mango mutilates bag and takes no accountability
I flew on Mango airlines JE535 to Port Elizabeth on 23 July for the PE Homemakers Expo, which runs from ~ 8 am to 10pm daily. Upon returning to our accommodation that night, I noticed that my bag lock was missing and the zip mechanism was broken. I immediately took a picture of the damage as proof with the date and time. We were busy with a stand at the expo from then and on our return trip on 26 July brought this to the attention of Gosego Kgasane the LPO attendant. His response was that Mango would not take any responsibility for the damage as it was a damaged zip and the matter had to be reported within 24 hours. The complaint was escalated to the GSA Team leader Rasheqa Gabriels, who also refused any assistance stating that it was policy. We had to purchase a new bag for the return trip. My favourite airline for affordability and efficiency has just turned disappointing. I will not fly Mango again. Don't offer a service if you cannot take responsibility and accountability for your actions. Large corporates such as yourself make the rules and care nothing for customer service and consumer rights.
