Mango makes it as difficult as possible to get the vouchers they promise you.

This December I flew Mango from PE to JHB, my flight was delayed by 2 hours, I was sent a (very well recieved) sms from Mango apologising and offering me a voucher of R250 for my inconvenience, all I had to do was call customer care with my booking reference to redeem it.

In January i tried for the first time to call and redeem, I was promised an email within the next 24 hours. No such luck, so I phoned again in a week asking them to check if it was sent, the same '24hour' promise was made. Still no luck...

Quite fed up by now, I made call number 3 (each time talking to a different operator), the next day I recieved the email, assuming the fight was over.

Now in May, when I open the email to try and use it on a flight, there's no attachment.

I wanted throw the R250 to the wind, but perhaps this is exactly what they want us to do. Angry, I called again, evidently an angry voice worked because in no more than 2minutes the very apologetic operator had sent me the voucher to my email address, I opened it and there it was. Easy Peasy.

Why couldnt that be done by operator 1,2 or 3? Is it Mangos objective to make obtaining vouchers as difficult as possible hoping that the customer will give up?

Disappointed.
