Mango Airlines - Do not touch

Upon checking at ORTIA today the Mango lady (Catherine Nkuna) was very sweet and helpful and to my surprise told me that I had a R70 voucher that I could use on the plane to CPT (JE145). I subsequently found out before boarding that a kind, loving and thoughtful special person in my life had phoned Mango directly to organise the voucher for me. After a delayed boarding (40 minutes late)where we, the passengers we left to stand in the bridge tunnel for at least 20 minutes, I boarded a plane that stank of fresh vomit. The stench was over powering for 2 very long hours. My already stressful flight was made decidedly worse when the food cart came around and upon presentation of my boarding pass I was told by Venucia Mazanga that I did not have a voucher and I would have to sort it out on my arrival in CPT. I dutifully went to the Mango counter and was told by Patricia that Catherine was already off duty so they could not confirm my story. What they have on record is only my booking details from Rennies and no extras. Excuse me? What? In today’s technology driven life style you have systems that don’t talk to one another in the same company. Really!!! Is that even possible. Woolworths has a record of my bra size on their database for heavens sake and yet Mango CPT can’t see I have a voucher, which I was told about at Mango check in JHB. I am not interested in codes on tickets etc. Bottom line I was given a voucher which was confirmed by Catherine when I checked in, the voucher remains mystical and unused due to inept, disinterested staff who clearly don’t give a damn about client service. Mango has lost my business for ever and I will not only convince my company not to use them but the entire company group and any person that touches my life on a daily basis. Which is in excess of 50 people a day all from big corporates. Mango understand the power of social media.
