Mango Airline tickets refund denied under COVID-19 conditions
I have since made a written submission to Mango Airlines in April 2020 cancelling the flights that were booked for the Durban trip to take place in June 2020. The reason was simple, COVID-19 circumstances. My family and i decided to cancel the trips including all accomodations since the president made an announcement regading the different levels of lockdown. So Mango Airline's response was any cancellations (for travels to take place in June) will be subjected to normal policy/ regulations meaning that my family will forfeit all the money paid for flight tickets. What bothers me is they want to force us travel and some of the hotels and other accomodations in Durban are still closed for business under level 3 lockdown. My family will no longer travel because there will be no school holidays this year, and kids are back at school. I find Mango management's conduct reckless and undermining what the president is trying to do. I really dont understand what their problem is because SAFair was able to refund (vouchers) all the family we were travelling with. Mango Airline management does not seem to care about other people's health but only business, so they will returm me at the airport on the travel should they find that i am not suited for travel??. I am now facing the reality of forfeiting money for all 4 passengers or being forced to travel under COVID-19 circumstances. How do i report such conduct? It is really disgusting.
