Luggage Left Behind

I would like to understand how is it possible that a passenger's luggage does not make it onto the plane???? Well, this is the outrageous scenario which me and 16 other passengers found ourselves in, on flight JE275 of 17th April 2019, Jhb- Dbn. Apart from my evident dissatisfaction, I was speechless!!! Whilst waiting at the conveyor belt, we were informed by an official [Yolanda] that 17 passengers would unfortunately not be receiving their luggage as it had been left behind in Jhb, and would be sent on the first flight out the next morning, and would be delivered to our desired address. Shock horror!!!!!! I soon discovered that I was one of those 17. Upon expressing my anger, and advising the official that I had a very important appointment early the next morning and that important documents were contained in the suitcase, the response was "its in your terms and conditions that your luggage may not make it onto the plane"! I was horrified to say the least, and absolutely disgusted at this remark. @Mango airlines- please comment !!!!! Do we purchase a spectacularly priced ticket to gamble with our luggage??? Since when has this become a thing? Since when is it the norm, or something to be expected??? In my 15 years of flying both local and international, I have not once encountered a situation such as this one. It is a ****** joke, and you should train your officials with more appropriate mannerisms toward passengers, especially toward passengers who are already facing a drama which is no fault of their own!!!!! To provide further context to this unacceptable, negligent and bizarre situation, I had a very important 9am appointment at a consulate the next morning, furthermore, I had important documentation contained in a file, which was packed in my luggage. I did not have any clothes, toiletries, or essentials on me. After several phone calls to the King Shaka offices the next morning to follow up on the flight (which was delayed) and the delivery, and numerous requests to prioritize my delivery address, I finally received my luggage at approx 10.05am which was of course way past the time of my scheduled appointment. This resulted in less than desirable consequences of which I will not go into detail. @ Mango airlines, I have lost all confidence in your airline by virtue of this mishap. How is it even possible that this was allowed to happen? Who didn't do their job? Am I now supposed to fly in fear of my luggage not reaching it's intended destination, or worse being lost? What is a passenger to do in a case of an important event such as a wedding or other planned event or emergency? Please provide a concise explanation concerning this incident, and how do you plan on compensating the 17 passengers for the stress and inconvenience caused as a result of your negligence???

Regards Speechless
