Low cost Mango with "highly motivated managers" which have no clue and are rude and customer care doesn't bother even to reply

My experiences with MANGO Airlines!

I often travelled with MANGO Airlines due to the convenience of flights and cost. Normally, they are very friendly and accommodating. However, that one day everything changed.

I flew from Durban to Cape Town and hand carried some ship spares (new) in an extra box. I had to pay excess luggage which I did often as I carry tools and other things for my job. The lady at check in asked me what is in the box and I told her steel parts. She asked me if they are parts for cars which I denied. When I went to the ticket counter to pay the excess, the manager came out and told the lady to reverse my payment as I am not allowed to take the parcel. He wanted to inspect the parcel. After doing so he stated I am not allowed to take the box as they are car parts which I denied again. I wanted to see the list of goods which are not allowed on the plane which he could not provide and he advised me that I have to approach customer care.

He stated as well, I miss my flight anyway and have to look for other options. I kindly advised him that I still have 1.5 hours till the flight goes.

The manager in question was a very rude person, probably because of his incompetence and lack of knowledge.

I sent my parcel with the national post situated at the airport (he never made this suggestion) and checked in.

I followed up with Customer care several times but MANGO Airlines doesn't even bother to reply. It seems they have enough money and don't bother about a single customer or future business.

I requested as well the detailed list of goods which are not allowed on MANGO Airlines which as well was ignored.

Fazit: Since this incident, I am not flying MANGO Airlines anymore. BA is much more competent and friendlier.
