**** to. Complete Inconsistency. AVOID!!

On Wednesday 28th December, 2016 flight JE268, our family including my 6 year old son were treated terribly by the Mango airlines ground staff at King Shaka. In particular, we were **** to by Clement, the Manager on duty who, after being told to remove my sons's christmas present from our bag ( a Nerf Gun) gave me a ******* story to excuse their inconsistent rules. Apparently, Nerf guns are not allowed to transit through ACSA airports in compartment luggage (according to Clement), and so I explained that we had just travelled through an ACSA airport when we left PE for Durban two days prior with the toy in our bags. Clement, tells us, that PE is not an ACSA airport and the rules dont apply there and so the scanners wouldnt pick it up, PE actually is an ACSA airport! I was so angry that he seemed to think he knew better, gave me this ridiculous excuse, wouldnt listen to a word I said and the worst of it being he didnt even look at my hysterical son who had his Christmas present removed on the spot at the airport. He then proceeded to threaten to remove my husband from the flight when we told him to leave us be. Mango, you need to be aware that you staff are rude, egotistical in the customer service and they dont know their own rules. How can a manager of your airline not know which airports in South Africa are actually ACSA airports? And to add fuel to the fire, on 19/09/2015, flight JE62, my husband flew DBN - JHB to catch a connecting flight to London. He'd booked the flight through an online cheap air travel agent, who'd obviously paid Mango in turn for the booking. Mango insisted they wanted to see the travel agents credit card card to protect them against *****. How were we supposed to produce on online travel agent's credit card at the drop of a hat? So we were made to pay for the seat again, just to ensure he didnt miss his flight out of JHB that evening to London. So this time round for the flight on 28th December 2016, I booked direct with Mango to make sure could produce proof that we paid for the flight. Guess what? The check in agent didnt want to see my cards, he said it was not necessary? So does that mean Mango knew we couldn't produce proof on behalf of a travel agent in 2015 and saw an opportunity to make an extra fare out of us? Never again Mango. You're a money grabbing, bad attitude, inconsistent airline. It would have cost me less in the long run to book with someone else.
