Lack of communication pathetic

My husband and I are booked on flight JE253 or tambo to durban. We get to. Our gate "C12" to sit there like idiots waiting for 1pm when we hear other passengers discussing that our flight is delayed by 2 hours????. No announcements where made and nobody informed us until we questioned attendants. This is absolutely ridiculous and as business people we have to move all our appointments to accommodate this mess up.
