Hand luggage taken off me

Boarding JE259 JNB-DUR.

Arrive at the plane and have had my hand luggage case taken from me, apparently due to not having an approved hand luggage sticker.

Since I am traveling with Hand Luggage only and used online mobile check in, at no point do I need to go to the check in counter.

I travel with hand luggage only using online check in for speed convenience and time.

Having to go and cue at check in for a sticker seems to defeat the whole perpose of online checkin.

My bag weight is 4.9kg. Yet I am told by boarding staff at the steps, it’s to heavy, simply by her picking it up!!!! Why I waisted good money on buying a specific piece of luggage, which is designed as had luggage for storage in overhead racks is beyond me, when *********** staff say it’s to heavy. However having traveled on, BA, KLM, Lufthansa, SAA, Emirates, Qatar, Kalula, Safair, Air France, Easy Jet, Flybe, Eithiad, Virgin, Swiss Air, Air Berlin and even Ryanair with this case, seems to show Mango staff are ***********. Also considering I flew with this case from Dur - Jnb on the 24th with Mango, on a full flight, and never had a problem.

Appalling service, and the flight is 70-75% full currently, 2 minuets before takeoff. Most over head lockers have room for more bags.

I am completely at a loss for how this incident has ruined my day.

Mango, you should be ashamed of such poor staffing.
