Does Mango care about passenger safety at all?
I was aboard a flight from Lanseria to King Shaka on 22 March 2018. The plane used for the route I have identified as having registration ZS-SJC.
I was seated in row 7C for the flight. The sound coming from the left engine (located well behind me) was so loud that no announcements could be heard, nor could I hear what my fiance seated right next to me was saying. I’m a frequent traveler and the noise level experienced is completely unusual for a 737-800 aircraft.
I sent an email to Mango on the 22nd of March 2018 after the flight and quoted the airplane identification number with a visual of the tail number requesting them to check the plane in the interest of public safety. After not receiving a reply from Mango, I again contacted them on the 26th of March 2018 requesting feedback. To date Mango has not responded.
The complete lack of response by Mango is not bad customer service, its a complete and deliberate disregard for passenger safety. I consider the lack of response by Mango as the company basically telling me that they don't give a **** about passenger safety. Even if the issue was investigated and turned out to be nothing, Mango has a responsibility to take ALL passenger concerns seriously.
Their customer service representative might come back and apologize for the lack of the response and ensure everyone that all their aircraft go through rigorous safety checks and regular maintenance schedules...bla...bla...bla. If I was running that airline, the person(s) responsible for dealing with the query would be dismissed from their positions immediately to send a message to all Mango staff that customer safety and confidence in the airline take top priority.
I have subsequently supported only other local airline operators as I refuse to make use of Mango again and why should I? They don't give a **** about me or anyone else's safety it seems.
