Delayed flight, no concern for customer
We arrived at Cape Town International airport at 13:25 on 11 Oct 2015. We tried to do self-check in to our flight (JE158), after which we were told to proceed to the check-in counter for assistance. At the counter we were told that JE158 has closed and that we should proceed to the standby counter, without any explanation. Further chaos ensued at the standby counter with no communication from Mango staff, other than that we should wait. We (I and my pregnant wife) had to wait at the standby counter for more than three hours without any explanation. At 16:45 we were told that we can go get something to eat (No meal vouchers offered !!) and we should be back by 17:30. When we got back, we were told we have been placed on standby again. Finally we were told that we were checked into a BA flight (BA6438) that was also delayed. We finally landed at OR Thamo at 21:30 (More than 5 hours late). We also incurred quite a substantial parking bill during this fiasco. I am very unhappy with the unprofessional way that we were dealt with (Problems do happen, but treat your customers in a humane way). After several emails and misdirected phone calls to Mango airlines, this is my last resort.
