damaged bags

My mom traveled for our family reunion to johannesburg. She is 58 years old and works for a salary of R1300.00 a month. Before she traveled she bought a new suitcase as she had none. When she got on to the flight in cape town her bag was new with no problems when she landed in johannes burg the case was broken at the bottom. We fixed it and a week later she went back to cape town when she landed her bag was torn on the side with her clothes hanging from the side. This is unexceptable as they Handel your bags at the airport with noregards to your personal belongings. I wonder if the airline would like it if we have to start treating their property the way they treat ours. I even took photos of her bag before and after her travel as this is not the first time she had to buy a new suitcase due to airline neglagence.
