Contacting incorrect person

I booked flight tickets on my credit card. The company then contacted my mother-in-law in order to offer her travel insurance for the flights booked. She panicked and went over her credit card statements immediately. Upon returning their call, she was given all my details and told to rest assured that it was not on her card. I am so thankful that they had not phoned a complete stranger and given out my details. We get upset with the bank due to card *****, while we should be upset with these type of companies. Nowhere was she asked to confirm any personal details to ensure that they were speaking to the correct person. I am extremely dissapointed in the company and doubt I will ever make use of their services again, despite the friendly service I received from the flight staff. Please be warned that this company could possibly give out your credit card information and personal details to complete strangers. Up and until today, they have not contacted my about the travel insurance or their mistake.
