checking in process differs why

I was in the que for the 08:30 flight at 07:45 but when I reached the checkin counter it was 07:55 and was told it was closed I have to be on standby for the next flight.<br> Ok I understood procedure <br> But the next flight was for 11:00 but check in closed at 10:45 as I was waiting by the standby que the lady said checkin will only close when there is no 1 in the que<br> Now this is confusing as it was closed whilst we were on the que\\"\" <br> What is so different with this que? There was about 7 of us in the que but we were not important at that time?<br> Why are we not treated the same?"
