Boarding pass refusal

On Sun 1 Feb, went to Mango check-in counter for boarding pass for 11h00 Dbn-Cape Town flight.
Presented my ID and Corporate issued travel itinerary (a Company paid e-ticket.)
I was refused a boarding pass by Malindi Mhlongo. She insisted that I had to present my company Diners Card, which I did not carry.Alternately, I must purchase a ticket in order to travel to Cape Town. She mumbled something about rules/regs/***** in a twang that I could barely understand.I rushed across to the Mango Sales counter to purchase a new ticket. I explained my dilemma to Shantal Osman who checked with her Supervisor,Clement Isaac, who stated that the e-ticket was in order. I managed to board just in time for the flight. This is the first refusal in 35 years of flying on company business.
Come on Mango, your staff needs to be trained properly before being kitted out with a uniform and badge.Different application of rules/regs? Why is there inconsistency in the application of Mango rules?
