Best to avoid using Mango Airlines!
As a doctor, my daughter is a frequent flyer, using Mango Airlines often. I and the rest of the family usually fly Mango as well and I am the one who is responsible for booking all my daughter's flights. Now, we've had a few bad experiences with Mango, but dismissed those, never electing to post any complaints accordingly. However, this afternoon, I am rather annoyed! I called Mango, wanting to confirm that travel permits were not essential at present. I held on for an extremely lengthy period, utilizing a great amount of airtime, only to have the gentleman who eventually answered the call to hang up the call, pretending as though he could not hear me... He was rather hasty/impatient. I felt that is was because he was reluctant to furnish me with his name, since I could hear him and he clearly could hear me, since he said "sorry" when I asked to whom as I speaking (at the start of the conversation) then he dropped the call which had costed me dearly. I've noticed that consultants are often very unhelpful, rude, lackadaisical in their efforts to assist and the moment consumers ask them to furnish them with their details, they become hostile in avoiding wanting to do so. I've learned the importance of asking who I am speaking to (for REFERENCE purposes, in case there is any comebacks) but consults seem to dislike obliging, perhaps in fear of being reported, or having to take responsibility for their actions. Nonetheless, I had to call back and endure being on hold, wasting airtime yet again. This time I got to speak to Meriam who confirmed that travel permits were not needed, but the moment I asked her for her surname (to make a note of whom I had spoken to/who had furnished us with the information, in case my daughter met with inquiries at the airport). Meriam asked me what I wanted her surname for and I explained that I always take the details of whom I have spoken to for reference purposes. She refused to give me her surname, saying that the calls are recorded (doesn't help if the details ie date/time/person spoken to, aren't furnished to the one wanting to search for the call records.. It's then like looking for a needle in a hay stack, but most importantly it does not help the person who may find themselves in a predicament at the 11th hour, based on being misinformed if that were to be the case. Even though I explained my reasons to Meriam, she refused to furnish me with the information so that I could log a note for my daughter for her reference, but instead her tone started to annoy me as I senses that we were now actually engaging in an "argument" so to speak. I eventually got so annoyed, feeling as though she was just further wasting my airtime as if I hadn't already taken enough of a loss in terms of having to spend extended periods on hold in the first place, only to be cut off on the first attempt! I've noticed that Mango Airlines staff do tend to be rude (generally) and very unhelpful. Consumers have a right to know who they have engaged with in case those details need to be referenced at a later stage. I also feel that most people tend to forget that it is actually a blessing to have employment these days, because many seem to take their jobs for granted! From finding our bags open when we receive them from the belt, to having had extended delays (HOURS) due to Mango deciding to combine two small flights into one... Delaying the earlier flight which has only a small group of people, so as to combine it with the next flight scheduled (with also a small group of people), but making excuses about it as if the scenario is not transparent, to having issues with their aircraft, thereby delaying flights, to a host of other issues, I've grown increasingly tired of and reluctant to use this airline in future! Rudeness is something that I seriously can't handle!
