Another SOC - POORLY RUN DON'T FLY MANGO!

I had the unfortunate experience of having to fly back from Cape Town to Johannesburg on flight JE162 scheduled to depart Cape Town at 19:35 and arrive in Johannesburg at 21:30. These plans aligned with the national lockdown regulations.

This did not happen! Instead the flight was cancelled and so were other flights to Johannesburg. You were given a reason that one of the planes on the day had technical issues resulting in schedule changes. The choice option was to fly at 6am the next day (16/04) or wait for the later flight now scheduled to depart at 00:05.

Needless to say we stayed as I had to get back for business the next day. The little thing nobody told us that the aircraft would only depart Cape Town at 01:10 and we arrived in Johannesburg after 3am. I had to arrange transport and as the curfew was in effect that person was pulled over twice and accosted for traveling outside curfew. Lucky he was not fined as he is an off duty police officer.

The Mango lack of communication and options, and no a R60 meal voucher when everything had to close due to the travel restrictions and staff having to get home did not make this mess better.

On actual arrival in CPT the aircraft was disembarked and immediately refilled to evidence of any sanitization or adherence to regulations for the safety of the crew or the passengers.

This is again a state owned airline which is poorly managed, the logistical management for aircraft maintenance to prevent these issues is clearly lacking and the airline staff at the airport were poorly trained and invisible most of the time.

I will not be returning to Mango EVER!!! I strongly recommend that no passenger put their life at risk with this airline that has become poorly managed and unreliable.
