Registration Staff - Not Efficient & Knowledge Equipped
I registered with MANCOSA in August 2019 for the first semester – B COMM Marketing Management. I then decided that I wanted to change to B COMM Supply Chain Management but was advised by my consultant Sindiswe Nkosi that I must complete the first semester as the subjects between the degrees in the first semester were the same and then apply for this change. On the 10/12/19 I went to the MANCOSA offices, second floor (registration department), spoke to Nduduzp Mpatha and he advised that I needed to fill in the Change of Programme Form and that there were no cost implications. On 18/12/19 – I received no communication or confirmation that my application was received so I called the offices and spoke to Antionette La’Bonne who then advised me that in addition to the Change of Programme Form I also had to fill in an Application Form. This was done and uploaded on 19/12/2019 and I asked her to confirm that there would be no cost implication. Offices closed on 21/12/19 without me getting any further communication. On 03/01/2010 I went to the offices and spoke to Nombuso who advised me that EOD 06/01/2020 I will have a response. But on 06/01/2020 there was no response, so I followed up on 07/01/2020 to get a response from Andile Madlala that I needed to fill in forms and send back to them. These forms were filled in and sent on 10/12/2019 and 19/12/2019 respectively so why the request for these forms. These forms are also on the portal and still no response on the cost implication. The ticket on the portal is not resolved but gets closed and marked as “THIS TICKET HAS BEEN CLOSED” No one answers you why this is the case as it repeatedly happens as if the query will vanish unresolved. Nondumiso Mafu is now handling this request and requests the forms. Today 13/01/2020 she calls me to advise that the change of degree request has been approved and sends me a proforma invoice – THERE IS A COST IMPLICATION OF R5420. Went to the offices – Sindiswe Nkosi – She says that student services were supposed to have informed me of the cost implication. Nondumiso Mafu – She jumped in to assist with the request, so she was not able to answer for the question that was raised twice on the cost implication. Andile Madlala missed this question when he responded to me. Antionette La’Bonne – No response. In all of this time that I was at the office Andile Madlala kept on going to the back office to speak to a “manager” – Who was this manager and why did he not come out to speak to me as I had requested. All Andile could say was he was sorry, he did miss the part where I asked about the cost implication and tried explaining something that did not make sense. I then advised him that I could not continue with this change due to the cost implications and he then advises that I need to pay for the study guides for the Supply Chain Degree. It had to be brought to his attention repeatedly that he and his colleague missed my question about the cost implication and therefore I had to revert to Marketing Management, and you want me to pay for the study guides. He yet again goes to the back office and asks me if I am sure about my decision. I left the office utterly disgusted that people are sitting there not able to assist and that I could not change my career direction.
