MONEY MAKING SCHEME!

Mancosa is such a money making scheme! The student support staff do not care for student complaints at all- especially when it is 'out of the norm'. Extremely bad communication. I have been trying to resolve a query for the past 3 months now, even trying to message module coordinators on Facebook because there is simply no other way of reaching out to them.

I had passed my main project (which counts 60% of your total mark) and my short question essay (which counts 20% of your total mark) with distinction yet they want to fail me on a module because I haven't completed a simple quiz which only counts 5 % of your module mark!!!

I have been told that I now need to re-register for the entire module which, bare in mind, costs almost R4 000 simply because I haven't completed a quiz !? Mancosa where is the logic in that??

A student can literally receive 80% for a module (meaning they understand the subject matter extremely well) and still fail because they haven't completed a quiz containing 10 true and false questions, which counts 5% of your final mark.

To date I haven't received less than 91% (final mark) for all my modules completed and I am currently busy completing my final module of the course. The only reason I haven't completed my KCQ quiz for that one specific module was because I made a slight error of jumbling up dates in my calendar. By the time I realized it was too late but I didn't think too much of it because I knew my marks were good enough to carry me through. Wow, was I wrong!

Also, there was no clear indication of this clause in the module information tab on the mancosaconnect portal when starting a new module.

I don't understand why these rules and clauses are working against us as students when the main objective of the institution is to educate and if a student's mark is above the pass criteria and can prove that he/she understands the subject matter then WHY are you still failing the students!!?? It is as clear as daylight that all Mancosa is concerned about, is milking students for more money.

I will not be returning for my next qualification and will encourage prospective students to rather consider a more reputable institution like UNISA.
