Missing data for RPL

In 2016, I registered for a PGDBM through an RPL process (RPL unit and admissions) of the institution and I was funded by my employer who was then the department of public works. I met all the requirements and received my qualification and in 2018 I was transferred to department of Transport and registered for an MBA degree through their bursary scheme. To advance in the department, I'm required to produce a letter from the institution that states that I was accepted for my initial qualification through the RPL process as per the RPL requirements: motivational letter, comprehensive and 3 x reference letters to meet and translation the PoE to the entry requirements of NQF 6. This morning for over an hour, I called Durban, Cape Town, East London and different responses are issued.1. The institution has no records of my PoE nor letter as it doesn't keep records after 5 years 2. I must refer to the acceptance letter which bears reference to the RPL, 3. I must contact student services 4. I must contact student advisors 5. I must visit the closest Mancosa branch. All these do not assist me at all. In 2020 my house burned and I lost all belongings and exxternal hard drive and laptop I.e. all work documents including study documents were lost in the fire. Inspite of this, I went through and re registerd for my MBA degree as I couldn't quit due to the set back (Proof of this can be provided should the institution requests it). All I want is someone to intervene so that I can be acknowledged through a letter of a certificate for having met the minimum requirements through a well publicized RPL process of the institution. There needs to be training of how employees of mancosa can respond to queried because all these responses I received give a serious injury to the brand Mancosa. I am unwilling to accept that this information can't be provided to me now. I'm so disappointed

Greetings. Your response is noted. However, the fact that the relevant department nor the turnaround time are not indicated to resolve the "query" does not minimize the urgency and the negative experience that I had today. I need a clear indicator that my concerns around the PoE for RPL will be provided and that you will train your staff on how to respond effectively to queries will add to trust and loyalty. I'm no stranger to the institution and wish to be treated as an alumni that still upholds the values of mancosa.

Good morning

I wish to acknowledge that I received a response from Zuko Silevana yesterday and appreciate the RPL letter which underpin the consider made for my studies. However, this mornin I am unable to reach through to him as I was told by a team member that his phone is on "do not disturb" thus for 18 minutes I was on hold to reach Pretoria branch where he is. Each time my call was picked up, I was re routed to the Durban branch which also sent me to Pretoria. My predicament is to be able to express to my Department that I indeed possess the minimum qualification translated through the RPL process. My response to the email Zuko sent was highlighting the omitted information needed:
The RPL letter does not explicitly acknowledge that my work experience with formal and non-formal qualifications are equivalent to the required prior qualification (NQF level i.e. 6 or 7) awarded for the sole purpose to access the qualification app**** for. The entry NQF level must be highlighted as well on this letter as per my response to eliminate future queries arising from selection panels that might Exclude me due to a lack of understanding re: RPL. This has been a cry as I have dedication myself to improving regardless of life's challenges. Kindly assist accordingly

Good morning

I am following up on the RPL query which I raised last week and is still pending. Yesterday you indicated that you’ve followed up with the "team" without a clear indicatio on what the next step is in closing the matter. Yesterday afternoon I had an appointment with a psychologist as thi issue of not getting the support needed has affected me in a serious way because is has a direct bearing on my career growth and development. I don't think you fully comprehend where my head space is

Dear Nobubele, Thank you for your patience while we attended to your query. We are so sorry to hear of your distress.  We have since contacted the Director, who has provided the following feedback:After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that the Admissions department will not be able to provide an amended letter as per your request. Our current policies do not allow for changes to be made to the documentation issued. Additionally, please note that none of our RPL letters contain explicit details about NQF levels awarded. This aligns with our standard practice, which focuses on the recognition of competencies gained through experience rather than the awarding of specific academic qualifications. We understand that this may not be the response you were hoping for, but should you require further clarification, we are happy to assist. Kind regards,MANCOSA Team
