MISSED KCQ DEADLINES - RE_REGISTER AS A MONEY MAKING MECHANISM

I would like to formally acknowledge that I unfortunately missed the KCQ deadlines for the following Semester 2 modules:

• Enterprise Analysis • Process Modelling and Analysis • Effective Requirements

This oversight was entirely unintentional. I had completed the formative assessment 2 (case studies) as well as the online summative assessment for all three modules. While awaiting the allocation of marks, I noticed that the KCQ scores had not been updated on my Mancosa App. Given that the system allowed me to proceed with both the formative and summative assessments without restriction, I was under the impression that all requirements had been met. It was only upon reviewing my results that I realized the KCQ component had not been submitted for the relevant modules, which were due on 22 September 2025.

Despite this, my results show that I have surpassed the pass mark in all three modules, even without the KCQ component. The response I received stated that all assessment components are compulsory to pass a module, and that failure to attempt any component requires re-registration in the next intake. While I understand that KCQs are a compulsory part of the module requirements, I must respectfully highlight that this situation does not reflect my usual approach to academic responsibilities. I consistently prioritize timely submissions and have never previously missed a deadline. This was a genuine first-time error, and I deeply regret the oversight.

I am particularly disappointed that the system did not notify me that the KCQs had not been actioned, nor was any communication sent to alert me of the missed component. The absence of such notifications contributed directly to this oversight. If I had completed the KCQs and not achieved full marks, I would still have passed the modules, which makes the requirement to re-register feel punitive rather than supportive of student success.

I kindly request your assistance in appealing this matter or advising on any possible recourse. I remain committed to resolving this in accordance with institutional guidelines and would appreciate any direction you can provide regarding the next steps. Please note that I am prepared to escalate this matter further, including raising it on public platforms, as I believe this situation highlights a systemic issue that should not be the standard at which a recognized institution operates.
