Zero Accountability from Makro

Good day
Note that the rejection email was only sent the day after the item was returned. I have subsequently had numerous engagements with the call center who informed me that there was a 'glitch' in the system and the item should not have been returned. I was requested to log the return again and am still waiting for it to be collected, it's almost a month since I bought the item and am therefore short on funds awaiting for this unnecessary issue to be resolved.
Would sincerely appreciate some action in this regard.

Still no word wrt collection of the item. It is now a month. This is actually ridiculous. My concern is that when it eventually does get collected they will just return it to me again without communicating.
I have just received another email from Massmart asking me to provide evidence wrt what was wrong with the item when the issue in the first place is that I couldn't select 'changed my mind' from the dropdown.
May I kindly please receive confirmation that all parties are aware of the issue that the item needs to be collected and that I need to be refunded. Done? Please?

I rep**** to that email stating that I had to connect it to my phone to discover that it did not meet my requirements, ie; does not function as advertised, which was the reason I returned it in the first place. If they had bothered to make contact with me in the first place before returning it, this whole back & forth could have been avoided. It is now over a month and I am still sitting with an item that should have been effectively returned. I find it absolutely shocking that nobody has picked up the phone to have a conversation to effectively resolve.
I DO NOT WANT THE ITEM AS IT DOES NOT FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED. OBVIOUSLY I HAD TO 'USE' IT TO DISCOVER THAT. I WOULD SINCERELY APPRECIATE MAKRO'S INVOLVEMENT IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE!?

This inadequate communication is unacceptable. Can somebody please step up and assist in resolving? I bought the watch. It arrived. I connected it to my phone to use as intended and immediately identified that it did not meet my requirements. I logged a return. It was collected and subsequently returned. I received an email two days later advising me that my return was rejected. I have been engaging with you ever since & only now find out that the EXCUSE for the rejection is because the item has been used. It has not been USED, as explained above.

Just received a call from Katlego, ref 17VHL explaining that the excuse for rejection being that the item was used, still related to the original return of the item where no communication occurred. She explained that the item has been prioritised for collection and that it is understood that the item had to be connected to my phone iot discover that it did not function as required and that a refund will be processed once the item is received.
I truly hope this is the case & that you will assist in facilitating this eventual resolution as opposed to just send me another unhelpful message.

The first issue is that I only wanted to track health related functions. It did not allow me to disable all other notifications. The watch buzzed incessantly with notifications relating to everything I use my phone for and did not synchronise to the app where I had disabled that function. None of the functionality was as seamless as advertised. The second issue is that I needed to be wearing my glasses to be able to effectively start tracking an activity as opposed to push a button and start, many more steps required before it started tracking anything. That was just within a couple of hours of frustration and aggravation and googling options to resolve.

However, whether they approve of my issues with their product or not I have every right as a customer to return a product I am not satisfied with. It was returned in excellent condition within the specified amount of time. It is now over a month since I purchased it which is no fault of mine.

It couldn't have been rejected again because it was never collected again.
I'm taking this to the consumer ombudsman
