Unsolicited Spam

I have been attempting to remove myself from targeted marketing emails to my private email address from Makro for the past month. Despite this I am confronted with at minimum 2 emails from them per week. This is spam and you are ignoring my requests to not be emailed. As such I will be cancelling my Makro card and taking all future business elsewhere, somewhere where I am not compelled to have a card which opens the gates to endless hordes of time wasting, irritating and invasive emails.

Thank you for your complaint.

Please be advised that you have been unsubscribed from receiving our emails. However, there is a chance that you might still receive a few due to most our emails that go out to our clients have been planned to be sent 4 weeks prior.

Should you still receive them during the above mentioned period, please do ignore them.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Regards

Mbali Makhanya

Please explain how I am still getting mails on the 4th of May from Makro when I was apparently unsubscriped on the 29th of March per the above. As mentioned I will now be cancelling my Marko card and will ensure that I never purchase anything from you again. You are glaringly *********** and are outright refusing to stop spamming me almost 6 weeks after I requested to be removed from any and all communications.

Heres the ****ing law for your reference

"section 45 of the ECTA provides that recipients of unsolicited communications are able to opt-out of future communications and may request information on where their contact details were obtained."

"Section 11 of the CPA follows in the footsteps of the ECTA by providing that you may refuse to accept, request the discontinuation of (opt-out) or pre-emptively block direct marketing communications, and that any opt-out or pre-emptive block must be respected by marketers, have their receipt confirmed in writing and that the exercise of these right must be performed free of charge."
