Unreasonable Gift return policy

This review is a bad review for Makro's gift return policy. I had received a gift from a family member recently, and my family member told me they purchased the gift from Makro. Unfortunetly because it being a gift they did not give me a receipt because they dont stay near me, and it is so rude for me to go and ask my family member for the receipt because "It is a Gift", and to disrespect them by telling them i am returning their gift that would be such a rude insult to them. So i contacted one of the makro store's near me and i explained my situation, and i even told the person that i would appreciate a makro gift card, to still puchase at Makro, and i was rudely told NO! Unfortunetly you have to have a receipt, otherwise i must go and ask the person that purchased the gift for me to give me their Makro Card number or the receipt, which i feel is so disrespectful to another individual. I had also done some research on google, to find out that Walmart as the owners of the retailer makro, they allow you to bring your gift back with out a receipt and they will provide a person with a gift card from the store. I would appreciate some urgent feedback on this matter.
