Unacceptable Supplier

I ordered XBOX ONE 500GB ********s Creed Bundle order number MAK073861 on Monday. I got an email stating it will be delivered in 2 to 5 working days. It is a gift that I need to have for this weekend. I called yesterday to check on it's progress and I was informed it was out of stock but that I will receive a call later (Wednesday) to see whether it could be sourced. I heard nothing. I called again today and I was told I would have to purchase something else or request a refund. So, my question is why nobody told me about this. Was I expected to wait indefinitely and not receive my order? Now I have wasted my time and need to make another plan for this weekend. I also expect my refund to be processed today. Without exception. You will not earn interest on money that isn't yours. How you could accept my money in the first place knowing there wasn't stock is shocking.
