Unacceptable customer services

I bought a Ryobi brush cutter from Makro Cape Gate, Cape Town. On assembly it was discovered that the thread on the head is damaged and that some parts were missing.

I contacted Makro via email. It took a couple of days before they phoned me. I explained the problem. The Makro representative stated that I had to return the Ryobi brush cutter to the Ryobi service centre in Cae Town for evaluation. He also stated that they are aware I will be coming and he would email me all the contact details.

I did not recieve any emails with the details

I live 3.5 hours from Cape Town on a farm in Ladismith. Yesterday 26 July I drove to Cape Town to the Ryobi service centre. The Ryobi agents stated that they agree that the brush cutter is damaged but could not assist me and I had to return the item to Makro.

I did this. Makro was very unwilling to assist. Eventually the item was booked in for evaluation.

Both the Makro and Ryobi representatives did not want to take responsibility for the product or the brand
