TV Promotion dispute
On Saturday 29 June 2024 I visited Makro, Montague Gardens branch to buy a tv and a few other stuff. I saw they had a 50% off special promotion on their 43" Hisense smart tv's. My son took a tv from the pile and we proceeded to buy some other goods. I paid for my purchases but didn't check my receipt. When I arrived home I received an email with a invoice for my purchases. I noticed that I was charged R4499.00 for the tv instead of R3999.00 as advertised on that day. I went back today, 02 July 2024 to query the additional charge and was told by a person on the floor that that was the wrong tv. That the tv I bought wasn't part of the special promotion. He said that the tv I bought was of inferior quality and the tv on special promotion was 50% off and the best quality in that range but since the promotion ended its back to its normal price. He called the sales manager so i can explain my situation to her. The sales manager argued that there's no way that the tv I bought was on that pile and that that tv wasn't even on display on the day. I've asked her to look at their in-store surveillance cameras and explained that if the tv wasn't supposed to be on display then how did I end up with one. She didn't want to listen to reason and I knew that my interaction with her was not going to lead to anything so I opted to just walk out. I'm very disappointed because I was made out to be a ****, which I'm most definitely not. All she had to do is go and look at their cameras to see that the 43" Hisense smart tv I bought came from the R3999.00, 50% off special promotions pile.
