The "buy in bulk and save" idea is wasted on these guys.

I have done the math, and buying from Makro is no cheaper than buying from anywhere else. In fact, if you factor in the taxi, bus, or petrol costs (personal car) that come with a trip to the grocery store, you are not saving at all! This is extra true when you realise that Makro tends to be in the middle of nowhere in most cases. It is so weird. They are almost never easy to get to.

I would rather have my groceries delivered to my house. I have a Ford Bakkie. I will save in petrol and maintenance of the truck if I do not have to drive 30km to my nearest Makro for overpriced "wholesale" goods.
