TERRIBLE AFTER SALE EXPERIENCE

On Black Friday weekend (23/11/2022), I purchased a Gentech inverter at Makro Strubens Valley, Roodepoort, Gauteng. I was looking forward to saying goodbye to load shedding, as I purchased a 1 600 Watt unit, as was assured it would last for 4hrs, if not longer. I used it sparingly (only for evening load shedding) in order to preserve the battery life. On the 9th Dec 2022 I was pleasantly surprised when the unit lasted 6hrs through extended outages. Since then however, the longest it now lasts is 1hr30min if even.

I subsequently returned the unit to said Makro, asking for a refund, as I explained I can not be without backup power during load shedding. I was told the unit would need to be sent back to the manufacturer for assessment, before a refund can be issued.

It has been almost 4 weeks since, & I have not had any satisfactory feedback. This despite visiting the Makro store in question, wasting an hour there & to date, no feedback.

I do not want the unit back, all I want is a full refund to purchase elsewhere where customer service is still respected.
