Sold me a defective phone!

Brought a Samsung phone from makro, 9 days later it just died on me, now I have to go weeks without a phone?. Because the money back or exchange guarantee is only for 7 days on cellphones?... Somehow, this is now my problem?. I paid for a new phone and I got a defective one... How the hell is this my problem now?. Unacceptable, really terrible service and unreliable supplier! I will never ever look at Makro and Samsung in the same way ever again. Pathetic!!!! what a terrible nightmare you are!

Hello kcara01,

Thank you for taking the time to raise below concerns with us.

Please find enclosed the Process that both Cell C and Vodacom follow in regard to Handset failures after 7 Days of Purchase.

After 7 days both the Cell Suppliers that we retail in the stores take the handset back to assess the reason for the failure before agreeing the next step.
You can return the phone to the store, where we get a courier to collect it asap and send it to the supplier for this assessment to happen.

The supplier will assess the reason for failure and do one of three things
Manufacture Fault - effect repair
Manufacture Fault - Replace Handset
Non-Manufacture Fault - quote for repair cost. This tends to be when there is evidence of post purchase damage - such as Liquid damage or dropping damage.

The Cell phone companies are generally very quick at responding.
Unfortunately - neither Cell Provider supply you with a temporary handset. Hence we will do everything in our power to assist in getting your phone - or a new handset back from the supplier as quickly as possible.
