Shameful, Disgraceful Behaviour from Makro
Unfortunately, I must write this review following on from my now late father's original complaint against Makro.
Since my father passed away on Thursday 9th May, I have been required to sort through his affairs. As you can imagine at this most distressing of times most people would expect empathy and compassion from a large corporation. This unfortunately is not the case with Makro as they continue to ignore phone calls, continue to not refund the money owed on the order MAK ********** , continue to not send emails when promised. Since Friday 10th May I have made several phone calls to customer services (all either get put on hold for 10+ minutes for no reason and then hung up or get put through to yet another *********** individual who says they will contact me back yet no response further). I have attempted to contact Ms Kerusha in the Johannesburg Head Office Finance Department as she is supposed to be handling the refund, however she appears to not actually work EVER as she does not pick up her phone nor call back after messages are left. I have spoken to a Mr Hapelo at Customer Services who has said it is being handled and he would call back to confirm no response there either. I have communicated with a Mr Anthony and despite he gave me his personal assurance and indeed his personal cell phone number ( ********** 585) he has failed twice to email me confirmation as he has promised (even suggesting he had sent it to an email address my late father had never EVER had and is still unable to send an email to an address I provided him). I have phoned his cell phone twice on Friday 17th May and left answer machine messages yet no reply.
It is a wonder Makro are still managing to function with such totally useless and *********** people working for them. I have never known such disrespectful and unsympathetic people in my entire life. At a time I should be grieving my late father I find I am required to deal with affairs that in any decent organisation would be handled smoothly and effectively. The amount of money owed is not large so I can only be led to the conclusion that Makro are in fact out to cheat their customers.
