Selling secondhand stuff as new

My daughter turned 3 yesterday (14/09/2016). About a month ago I showed her some pamflets and asked her to pick something as a birthday present, so she saw a trampoline in a Makro pamflet and asked for it. The next day I bought a smaller trampoline than the one she wanted at Makro. They notified me that same day that I can collect it at their Germiston branch. I went there and had to wait an hour for them to finally bring the trampoline to me so that I can take it to my car (alone).

Yesterday morning I let my daughter open het present and when she saw it was a trampoline, she was the happiest little girl on the planet. I asked my husband to assemble it so that she can jump on it before school, but it could not be assembled as one of the pipes had its parts cut off. The manual had pencil notes in it and was very dirty and in a poor condition. Clearly the trampoline have been used before. My daughter was devistated as she couldnt play with her present on her birthday. I phoned Makro and Talked to a lady there that assured me I can exchange the trampoline in my Lunchtime and it wouldnt take long as we can just swop them.

With confidence I went to Makro in my lunchtime to find out that they dont have stock and I would have to drive all the way to Silver Lakes in Pretoria East (I live in kempton park and work in Bedfordview, so clearly that wouldnt work for me.) They advised me that they can get me a bigger trampoline as I made a scene explaining to them my child already opened the gift and saw a trampoline, so I cannot go home with another present or empty handed. They came back to me with no luck. All their trampolines are sold out and the ones that was there was in for repairs (which was the explanation they gave me when I asked if the trampoline they sold me was used before, that it must have been in for repairs) . I asked for my money back which they yet again refused to give , instead they gave me a Makro voucher. I told the guy that was "helping" me that I dont want anything to do with Makro anymore and that I want my money back... He refused yet again.

I walked out very angry as there wsa no solution to my problem. My husband then called and talked to one of the managers and arranged for the trampoline to be delivered to us, but only the next day as no one wants to drive that far at almost the end of the day,

I am now waiting for them to deliver my product as arranged, but will never ever support them again as they provide poor service, are very disorganised and wont go the extra mile when they were in the wrong.
