Same poor service again

I had purchased a Nextbook from Makro Online in October this year. The product was opened and had a hardware problem. I took it back to Makro Springfield within 14 days and it was submitted for a credit refund- subject to it being sent for inspection. I received a call on 14 November informing me that a credit has been processed ( over a month this process took, and much longer than Makro's policy). I then went into the store to process the refund on 19 November.

I was the told that the refund process could not be complete until I produce proof of payment- utter ******* since Makro definitely received payment for me to have picked up the product in the first place. The lady then stated that the refund will be loaded onto a voucher to be used in store- again I refused, as I paid in cash. She then processed a refund after speaking to manager and assuring me that it would reflect in my account in 7 days. 7 days passed and no payment- but I received an email from Daylan requesting a bank statement, bank account details, ID number and proof of payment. All was forwaded but still no payment.

This to me is blatant theft. R2499 hasn't been processed for more than 2 weeks with no excuses. I can't understand, firstly, the delay and secondly, why such details are requested and thirdly, why don't I have my money back.

This is not the first time the returns process in Malro has made my life difficult- its happened before and still no improvement.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay and inconvenience that has been experienced.

A refund has been processed, it will take 5 to 7 working days to reflect on your account.

We hope you will have only positive shopping experiences at Makro in future.
