Ryobi 2 Year Guarantee means nothing!!

I purchased a Ryobi edge trimmer in August 2013, It packed up( packed up doesn't mean it will not work, I am talking about sparks flying from the innards and tripping the mains on the house, with *****s and bolts rattling loose on the inside) on 31 Jan 2015, with more than 6 months left of the GUARANTEE. Took it into Makro Woodmead where it was purchased, and was told they would repair it.<br> I contested this, saying it has a 2 year guarantee, only to be told, apparently the guarantee is \a repairable guarantee"";but would like my money back and to purchase a product that's supported by its manufacturer.<br> Stop selling products under a **** 2 year guarantee policy duping customers."""
