Returns Policy not upheld

I had purchased paint that is tinted from makro and I went through to return the one 20L tub based on the return policy on the makro website. I had a look at the policy before hand and I saw that there is no mention of any exclusions on the website that you cannot return tinted paint. I went in to the returns section at woodmead and the paint department manager came through and says that they cannot accept tinted paint back and that there is a note at the paint section. Quite honestly at the time I was purchasing the paint, I did not see this so called notice, and neither was I made aware of this by the person in the store assisting me. In accordance with the CPA, customers are to be made aware in simple language of any clauses at the time of purchase, which I was not made aware. Furthermore, the policy on the makro website itself does not mention anything about not being able to return the paint. So, where is the peace of mind that you promise your customers? You guys are going against your own written policy on that is on the website? I am now questioning buying from the store as I am not sure now if you will uphold your promises anymore.
