Racial ************** by Security Personnel at Makro Pietermaritzburg

Dear Hello Peter Team,

I am writing to express my outrage and disappointment at the appalling treatment I received from a security guard at the Makro store in Pietermaritzburg today. My husband and I visited the store this afternoon to purchase some mats, and after a pleasant shopping experience with the sales lady and cashier, we were subjected to discriminatory behavior by a security guard at the exit.

When we attempted to leave the store, the security guard, who appeared to be of a different racial background than us, rudely demanded to see our receipt without even greeting us. When we explained that we had purchased the items according to the promotion, she ignored us and proceeded to attend to other customers of a different racial background, seemingly favoring them.

When I questioned her behavior, she called for backup and appeared to be instigating a scene. I was shocked and offended by her ****** behavior, and I believe that Makro needs to take immediate action to address this incident.

I request that Makro:

1. Publicly apologize for the incident 2. Investigate the matter and take disciplinary action against the security guard involved 3. Provide training to security personnel on racial sensitivity and customer service

I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and take prompt action to address this matter.
