PROOF THAT MAKRO MILNERTON PUT FAULTY RETURNED GOODS BACK ON THE SHELF

Awhile back I bought a ladder that was in a dirty condition, but was told it was the last one in stock. When putting it in my car, I was only then able to see one of the bolts had sheared and the leg was bent. On Thursday I returned a Seagate Potrable Hard Drive as it could not be read by all my devices. I had left the plastic on for protection and affixed a label with my name and phone number on, should I lose it. Yesterday I received a call from a lady in Kommetjie who had just purchased two Seagate Hard Drives, one of which was the one I had returned as faulty. I trust Makro Milnerton will from now on be more vigilant regarding customer returns and put in place or enforce a policy on such, to ensure that customers are protected from this poor practise.

The company aims to consistently deliver a professional service to our customers and I would like to state that on this occasion the level of service you received was unacceptable.
I believe our Manager (Tony Julius) have been in contact with you and a delivery of a new unit will be done tomorrow.
We do not sell second hand or used product from one customer to the next. This is against our policies and not how Makro chooses to do business. We have notified all relevant personnel regarding this complaint to raise awareness and to prevent a recurrence of this nature.
We sincerely apologise for this unfortunate incident and delay in responding to your complaint, and would like to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Mr Moropa,
Regarding your response (Hello Peter did not advise me on same) Mr. Tony Julius has not been in touch with me and my main concern was does Makro have an official written policy regarding returned goods and should they not have or make provision for a quarantine area where they can be held, prior to being returned to the manufacturer. This is standard policy in most companies.
