Premium is not so premium Makro/Defy/Beko

I bought a brand new washer/dryer from Makro, and it didn't work, so I attempted to return it. The reply from the Defy premium range was that it was my fault that the machine did not work and that the product fell out of warranty. I was referred to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, which found and recommended that the washer/dryer be replaced or I be refunded, but they refused to follow the CGSO's recommendation. Here I am more than 1 year later with a broken washer/dryer taking up space after paying over R12 000 for it.
