Poor post warranty service.
I took out an extended warranty on a Samsung TV, when it gave me problems in 3 years later, I contacted Makro who sent out a technician, and then advised it was too costly to repair, so they would reimburse me for the price of the TV, and sent me a voucher to the value to use at any Marko store. They then said that they will arrange for a salvage company to collect the damaged TV as is the policy. Which was all good up to this point. Before the salvage cimpany collected the TV I signed out of all my apps, deleted the apps and reset the TV. Then the problem starts, it seems the salvage company (SALVAGE SA) sold off the TV or used it themselves. Just over a month after they collected the TV, I got an error on my new TV I purchased saying my Netflix account is being used on multiple devices and I cannot view it on my device. a call to Netflix determined the usage of my account was on my old TV which the salvage company collected. Took a while but kindly had Netflix force a disconnect on the old TV, and then changed my password to protect my account. I have no idea how they managed to sign in again on the old TV after I reset the TV, but it was confirmed by Netflix that the old TV device was actively being used to stream using my Netflix account. Makro has used poor quality checks with their salvage company choices and not ensured customer safety and data integrity is in tact with the companies they choose to use.
Well done Makro on accepting to work with such ********* companies.
