poor delivery, broken promises and no service at all

i ordered a Christmas gift on Sunday the 18th December 2022. the delivery time was stated on the website at 2-5 working days which meant i would of had the item before Christmas. Christmas came and went and no delivery. i then got tracking details from the courier driver who would deliver my gift that same day. that day came and went. when i contacted the driver he said he didnt take the item and would now be delivered by a different driver who had taken the package. this driver fell off the face of the earth and the gift never arrived and no new tracking details. after now 7 working days we find out from riversands makro that the item was still at the shop. day 8 no delivery. day a promise was made for delivery. it is already 13:00. no new tracking details and the call center has me waiting already 12 min and still waiting. at least you cant complain about the online service at riversands makro because there is no service. at 14:00 i come off work and if no deliery i will drive the 45 km to riversands makro and collect the item myself. if i had bought the item from takealot i would of had it in 2 days, maybe for an extra R100 but at least the gift would have been in time for Christmas. i will not buy anything else from makro online
