POOR CUSTOMER CARE

The email below was sent to MakroCare on 22 April this year... and I have yet to receive a response In addition to the scenario below; 3 montha ago I met and related teh whole story to the new manager responsible at Makro Alberton, a Mr Zuko ***). He apologized, took down my details and promised that he would personally try to locate a curved soundbar for me or compensate me for the poor service. Just like all the others thus far ... nothing happened. and every time I have asked for him instore, he has been to busy. I have since moved on and don't expect Makro to remedy the situation in any way. But I thought that I should relate this story here.. to highlight the fact that NOBODY in the whole of Makro SA took the time/ responsibility to return my calls/emails/ ... and that EVERY single promise to give me progress/feedback was NEVER honoured.

-------- Original message -------- From: shauntimothy501 <***> Date: 4/22/19 10:26 PM (GMT+02:00) To: *** Subject: Samsung Curved Soundbar

Good day I would like to relate my experience... hopefully it elicits a response from someone senior as to whether or not this has been fair.

On the 8th of March I attempted to purchase a Samsung 65" Curved TV, together with a curved soundbar as it appeared on display (picture attached) at Makro Alberton.

The transaction was almost complete, until the salesman realised that he had no stock of the soundbar. He did however manage to locate stock at Makro Vaal. I purchased the TV and he,Thabo Magoshwa, said he would arrange for a STO, which meant that he would arrange for the item to be transferred to Makro Alberton and that it would take roughly 7 days.

Two weeks later I went back into the store to enquire as to why I had not received atleast a call. Thabo explained that they were having trouble getting the soundbar transported to Alberton and that I should expect a phonecall from head office soon.

This Saturday the 20th I made a third trip to Makro Alberton. This time I spoke to Mary Ngope (Inventory Manager)... who told me the following; She told me that the manager at Makro Vaal, Jacque Delport, refuses to release the item and suggested rather that the customer (myself) should make the trip to the Vaal to purchase the soundbar directly.

I find this type of explanation shocking, and cant help but feel insulted.

Therefore I would like a response from someone in customer relations or whichever is the relevant department; as to whether this type of treatment is professional or even acceptable in this day and age.

I will also be relating my experience on Hello Peter as well.

I eagerly await a response Shaun Peters ***

Good day,
I have yet to receive any such liaison from anyone associated with Makro.
Which further illustrates my point. Yet ANOTHER promise that was NOT honoured

Today is the 12th of December and I have yet to receive ANY contact from Makro.
As I have mentioned, I will be very surprised if Makro remedies the situation OR compensates me in anyway like the Alberton manager promised.
This post is merely to illustrate that Makro infact DO NOT take Customer Care seriously enough and therefore I challenge the statement made above;
"We take all our customers request seriously and assure you that this matter will be my priority"
8 Months and not a SINGLE phonecall... REALLY MAKRO??
