People be very carefull buying from Makro
Never trust Makro Bloemfontein and be very carefull buying something from Makro.Next time i rather buy from another retailer.
I bought n new Xbox Series S controler for my son for Christmas on the 17 Dec 2024.I wrapped it and given it to him on Christmas day.The controller started to give problems on one of the buttons RT button and on the left stick.I phone Makro Bloemfontein on the 15 Jan 2025 and let them know that the controller is faulty and they must replace it.They said they only replaced products between 7 to 14 days working days. Its only 19 working days really? The lady said that is not there problem anymore and i must phoned Microsoft SA for the warranty and Microsoft will replaced it.She just given me 3 numbers to phone at Microsoft.I have tried the whole day trying to phoned this numbers but only bots answer the phones and you cannot spreak to anyone. So no help from Microsoft aswell.
How can Makro Bloemfontein say that its not there problem anymore?I am their customar and this it how they tread you after you buy things from them? And the controllers must have 6 to 12 months warranty on them.I rather never buy something again from makro because if it does not work they dont refund you or replace it.Be carefull people before you buy things from Makro Bloemfontein.I also have read this.Take note
"In terms of S56" of the CPA all goods sold to a consumer are sold with an imp**** warranty of quality, that cannot be contracted out of or revoked. The warranty gives the consumer the right to receive goods that: are reasonably suitable for the purpose that they are intended to be used for, are of good quality, free of defects and in good working order, and will be durable and useable for a reasonable period of time.
If goods are found not to comply with these requirements then, for up to 6 months after receiving the goods, the consumer can: return the goods, or get the goods replaced, or get the goods repaired.
Also in terms of "S56", the consumer (not the supplier) can decide whether to choose the refund, replacement or repair.
Therefore, for the store to indicate to a consumer that defective goods need to be returned within 14 days to avoid losing the option of exchange, is ******* not to mention a form of bullying. The truth is that the consumer has the right to decide between return, replacement or repair for a period of 6 months after the initial purchase.
My entire experience with Makro wreaks of incompetence and untruthfulness.
