"Pensioners are easy targets"

I am hereby acting on behalf of my dad Christopher Eckles, who is a pensioner. Him and his wife purchased a washing machine at Makro. They purchased a extended warranty Policy number 06/110579. In November 2021 the spinner of the washing machine broke down (Ref no ***). It took a month for technicians to repair the machine. In this time that the spinner was broken, My dad with his arthritis, has been ringing out water from his garments which is a tremendous job for him. The spinner broke down again in January 2022 (Ref No ***). It once again took a long period to be repaired which was about 3 weeks and once again my Dad was left without a spinner and as a result was subdued to ring water out of his garments with his hands. Technicians came out to repair the machine again and when the machine was used for the first time after this repairs, the spinner broke down once again on the 13Feb 2021 (Ref No ***). I decided to take the machine to Makro where the manager apologized about the issue with the extended warranty team not wanting to replace the machine and that he would address the matter and he would call me back the next morning after he told me to take the machine with me back home, as a technician will be sent to do an inspection and not a repair. The manager never ever got back to me. The technician came out once again and tried to repair the machine and left us with a faulty spinner claiming it has been repaired The spinner is now still faulty and the motor makes a noise while spinning after the technician was out the 4th time to try and repair the spinner. My Dad is 70 years old and cannot be without a functional washing machine. He cannot afford to buy another washing machine and felt he felt he needed to cover himself should the machine require replacement with the purchase of the extended warranty. He feels that this machine is faulty as it has not worked for 3 months now and the technicians cant get the spinner 100% functional as it was and he wants a new machine which is not problematic.
